The Penthouse Colombia apartment is very easy to find. It is located in the most exclusive tourist zone in Colombia only four buildings from the Cartagena Hilton Hotel. The building is called “Edificio Playa Mar”.

The neighborhood is known as “El Laguito” and there is only one street that goes one direction because the ocean is on both sides of Laguito. The Penthouse is located before the Cartagena Hilton Hotel so if the taxi drives past the Hilton then it has gone too far. All taxi drivers know where the Cartagena Hilton is located so if there is a problem communicating with the driver simply ask him to go to the Hilton. In Spanish the H sound is not pronounced so it is better to say “o-tel ill-ton”. El Laguito is pronounced “el la-gee-toe”

The Penthouse Colombia is about 10 to 15 minutes from the Cartagena International Airport. The taxis charge about $8.00 USD (but paid in Pesos) to drive from the airport to the Penthouse. Those who do not speak Spanish can just write on a piece of paper “EL LAGUITO” and hand it to the driver.

The drive from the airport to the Penthouse is very pleasant. The taxi will drive along the ocean and within a few minutes drive past the walls of the historic “Old City” of Cartagena. Directly past the Old City is an area called “Bocagrande” where all the modern buildings are located. At the very end of Bocagrande the street makes a circle around a lagoon which is where the Penthouse is located.
