The Junior Suite
The Penthouse Colombia Junior Suite has every comfort that can be expected while vacationing in Cartagena de Indias Colombia. The bed has a King Size mattress that is cushioned pillowed and 2 meters by 2 meters in size. The Penthouse uses only the highest quality linen and silk bed covers purchased in Thailand.The Junior Suite has it own independent air conditioning system that permits the room to be set at any temperature required using the computer controlled presets. These air conditioners (known as mini-splits) are virtually silent and are mounted discretely on the ceiling. Unlike wall-based air conditioners there is no need to constantly adjust the temperate. The guest simply selects the desired temperature with the remote control and the room will remain at that exact temperature. The Penthouse Colombia apartment has five independent mini-splits so that each suite, as well as the different zones in the common areas, can be set to the temperature that the guest personally requires. There are also remote controlled fans in each room for guests who do not desire air conditioning.
The entire Penthouse apartment has high-speed wireless Internet with sufficient strength that the Internet can be accessed in any room as well as on the outdoor terrace. The Junior Suite also has an Ethernet jack for those who want to connect their personal devices directly to the Penthouse's high-speed Internet backbone.
Each suite has two wireless telephone systems. One telephone is for calling local numbers in Cartagena. The second telephone is connected to the Penthouse's Internet backbone and allows for free calls to anywhere in the United States or Canada. The Penthouse apartment has a North American telephone number that can be given to your friend in North America so they do not have to call long distance to Colombia. The telephones can also be used to page between rooms or to page the maid in the kitchen so there is no need to get out of bed if you want breakfast served in your room.
The Junior Suite has an LCD television close to the bed that provides local channels and several International news channels in English such as CNN and FOX.
The view from the Junior Suite is of the body of water called “Laguito” which is Spanish for “The Lagoon”. The Cartagena Hilton Hotel can be seen to the right and to the left a beautiful view of the Caribbean Sea. All windows in Penthouse Colombia have blue thermal protection to block out the intense heat and light that is common midday in Colombian Coastal Cities. The blue thermal windows also adds a level of privacy to the Penthouse since when the windows reflect light they turn dark blue on the outside allowing guests to see out but blocking the view looking in.
All bathrooms in the Penthouse Colombia are brand new and meticulously cleaned each day by the maid. The bathroom in the Junior Suite has two showers inside glass doors allowing two people to shower at the same time. One shower is a standard massage system while the other shower is a full body system with only the highest quality finishings. The Penthouse Colombia has it's own private water pumping and filtering station which guarantees sufficient water pressure throughout the Penthouse regardless if all guests shower at the same time. We imported a German made “hot water on demand” heating system that provides unlimited hot water so there are never any shortages or limits to the amount of hot water that can be consumed. The majority of apartments in Cartagena do not have hot water but guests of the Penthouse can enjoy long toasty warm showers after a nice swim in the Caribbean Sea directly below the Penthouse.
Of course, the Junior Suite has all the other small details one can expect such as a combination security safe, large closets, alarm clock, high quality bathroom towels, brand new floors that were installed in 2009, beautiful hand painted art and ambient lighting.
